No Wonder We’re Off-Target… Our People HATE Coming to Work!
Hopefully we can agree that an engaged employee is “one who is fully involved in, and enthusiastic about, his or her work, and thus will act in a way that furthers their organization’s interests.” Our studies reflect organization profitability, efficiencies, and growth suffer when employees are not engaged. Worse yet is the scenario when leaders are not engaged!
In 2008 at Pathos Leadership Group we were asked by a client to produce a series of maps (Engagement Maps) that reflected a story for the organization when it came to leadership engagement, employee engagement and customer engagement. A powerful triangular model appeared that when debriefed by leaders, or employees, had some startling planning details. As such, we developed a series of Engagement Maps targeted to begin dialog amongst leaders and employees, as well as producing a series of role-plays (Engagement Plays) in which leaders and employees could “practice” their upcoming engagement scenarios in a private, non-public, no threat to customers environment.
