So Many Candidates… So Little Time!
The potential employee candidate pool has never been better stocked. With the recent “right sizing” so prevalent in most industries, there has never been a better time to recruit talent that is far superior in quality… perhaps an opportunity to “trade-up!”
However, attracting and recruiting the wrong candidate can have dramatic effects, the least of which may be financial in nature. Take for example one of our clients who attracted and recruited what they thought was the perfect hire. On paper, few candidates could match this individual… he attended the best schools, worked in the best organizations, and was seen as a true thought leader as the subject matter expert. Unfortunately, while he was extremely intelligent (IQ) he had very little social graces or qualities (make that none!) As a result, this leader was absolutely brutal to work with and nearly caused a mutiny within the division he took over.
